The 1st Handmaid’s Tale Trailer Is 30 Seconds Of Creepy, Dystopian Dread

“My name is Offred, and I intend to survive.”

The 1st appear at Hulu’s adaptation of Margaret Atwood’s The Handmaid’s Tale — which will run in ten episodes, with the first premiering on April 26 — is blink-and-you are going to-miss-it short, but it certainly succeeds in chilling the viewer to the bone with a couple of powerful photos and even fewer lines.

In the trailer, we see Elisabeth Moss don a bonnet and scarlet garb as Offred, the narrator of The Handmaid’s Tale who’s forced to serve as a single in a world that’s been forever changed by an environmental disaster.

We see Offred withstand abuse. We see her share some intense stares with Moira — played by Samira Wiley, very best known for her function as Poussey in Orange Is the New Black — who’s her best friend and a bridge amongst her past and her bleak future. And we also see Alexis Bledel silenced by an intense face mask, which fails to conceal the sheer terror that speaks volumes in the brief second she appears onscreen.

We’ll surely understand more about the series in the coming weeks, but for now: Eep. Watch the trailer above, and verify this space for further Handmaid’s Tale updates prior to its premiere on Hulu on April 26.

Tom Hardy Gets Gritty And (Practically) Naked In First ‘Taboo’ Trailer

This weekend, Tom Hardy will vie for an Oscar for his function as the morally bankrupt fur trapper/murderer John Fitzgerald in The Revenant. It’s exactly the kind of role Hardy excels at: a brooding menace who always seems to be one particular step ahead of his enemies.

Unsurprisingly, Hardy’s character in the upcoming FX mini-series Taboo looks equally as harmful. Set in 1814, the story follows James Keziah Delaney (Hardy), a shipping heir who “has been to the ends of the earth and comes back irrevocably changed,” according to a synopsis from Variety. He returns to London to take more than his not too long ago deceased father’s organization, only to find that his pops was apparently in cahoots with some shady AF characters.

In the very first official trailer, we get a glimpse at the ensuing drama, which involves a lot of intense threats, a pig’s head on a stick, Hardy roaming the woods in a skimpy loincloth, and his chilling delivery of the line “I am a really dangerous man to know.” DAMN, MAN.

Taboo is executive developed by Hardy, Ridley Scott, and Stephen Knight, and is primarily based on an original notion by Hardy and his father, Chips Hardy. The eight-episode series is anticipated to premiere in 2017.

‘Huntsman: Winter’s War’ Trailer Teaser Presents A Polar Bear-Riding Emily Blunt

&#13 &#13 &#13 &#13 &#13 &#13

The initial complete trailer for “Huntsman: Winter’s War” will be unveiled on Wednesday (Nov. 18), but in order to prepare fairy tale lovers for the “so much more” the adhere to up to 2012’s “Snow White and the Huntsman” claims it’ll deliver, Universal Photographs released a 15-second trailer teaser that offers a sample of what Queen Ravenna (Charlize Theron)’s poison apple tastes like kingdom will appear like in film two.

And even though some issues haven’t changed, ahem …

Universal Pictures

The teaser does provide up some new flashes of intrigue.

  • Like the truth that the Warrior can wield the sh-t out of those antler daggers.

We’re told Jessica Chastain’s character name right here is Sara, but you know what? We’re going to choose to pretend it’s just Warrior, born and raised, simply because Look AT HER GO.

  • And the Ice Queen rides a polar bear, apparently.

Whilst Queen Ravenna is partial to the crow, it looks like Emily Blunt’s Freya (named for the Norse mythology “party girl” maybe?)

  • Plus, um, are the Huntsman and the Warrior are gonna be knockin’ boots?

Prepare yourselves for some prospective Huntsman-Warrior hotness onscreen in the course of “Winter’s War.” We only get the tiniest glimpse of it, but we’re pretty positive that is Chris Hemsworth de-clothes with the badass Warrior — and the synopsis definitely backs up that theory. That’s enough to melt the Ice Queen’s kingdom proper there is all we’re sayin’.
